Ronni Davis (she/her) is an author and editor based in Chicago, IL. She holds a BA from The Ohio State University and began her editorial career in 2005 at McGraw-Hill. From there, she’s gone on to work as a copyeditor, line editor, and editor at various publishing companies, advertising agencies, and consulting firms. In addition, she's studied acting and gotten certified to teach yoga. She loves the written word and has been known to read dictionaries for fun.
Her first novel, WHEN THE STARS LEAD TO YOU, is available now from Little Brown Books for Young Readers, and the anthology YOU TOO?, in which she is a contributor, is available now from Inkyard Press. Her second novel, THIS NIGHT IS OURS, is available from Little, Brown Books for Young Readers. She has an MFA in Creative Writing for Children and Young Adults from Hamline University.
In her spare time, you can catch Ronni spending time with her son Aidan, cuddling her kitty cats, playing Stardew Valley, the Sims or Animal Crossing, eating too much candy, or planning her next trip to Disney World.
Ronni’s authenticity reads include manuscripts that center Black American culture, Black-white biracial culture, Black-white interracial relationships, city living, mental illness (specializing in depression and anxiety), LGBTQ (specifically demi, bi, or pan), marriage and children, and interfaith relationships (Christian and Jewish).
